Boutique studio opens new locations to aid in alternative pain management and tension relief through assisted stretching methods.

Montclair, NEW JERSEY (August 2019)–Computer technology has brought loads of convenience to our fingertips and bundled, tight muscles with it. Kika Stretch Studios, a fitness studio specializing in assisted stretching sessions, has rapidly expanded in the past decade and revolutionized the fitness industry with the KIKA Method.

Launched in 2011 by Hakika DuBose, Kika Stretch Studios began in a shared office space. “I put the last $500 towards the office space and marketing. It was me, an exercise ball, and a dream.” The concept quickly caught on. “People thought I was crazy for having a studio that offered one-to-one stretch sessions,” she says. “But, after educating the public and showing them how much better their results would be if they allowed someone to help them, they were hooked!”

Today’s lifestyles are taking a toll on the muscles. Daily sedentary routines combined with intense fitness fads have created tight muscles. DuBose created Kika Stretch Studios based on her past experiences as a dancer and a personal trainer, ultimately releasing tension and relieving pain. Specifically featured within each session is a technique created by Dubose, the KIKA Method, which allows patrons to stretch based on a combination of dance warm-ups, personal training techniques, the Alexander technique, Laban movement analysis, and advanced anatomy. The method is a hands-on experience, all measured by Kika Stretch Years. This measurement system, also devised by DuBose, measures a client’s age in flexibility.

After just the first four years in business, Kika Stretch Studios had flourished to over 1,000 clients. Today, the company has continued to expand through franchising. Their current roster of locations includes Morristown, Montclair, Summit, Short Hills, Westfield, and Englewood in New Jersey. Also, there is a Dallas, Texas location and two in Georgia in Midtown and Vinings. There are two more studios slated to launch this fall: one in Wayne, Pennsylvania and one in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Kika Stretch Studios is franchising. This boutique stretching facility seeks to help patrons achieve mental clarity, move with ease, reduce stress, improve flexibility, or release tension all through the KIKA Method.
