Salon 809 Shines as One of the First Dominican Salons to the Franchise Market

The Dominican salon franchise is now expanding throughout the Southeast.

Landover, MD (April 12, 2021)– Jeimy Flournoy is no stranger to hard work and success.

At the young age of 16, Flournoy came to the U.S. and started high school. “While in school, I was working as a janitor and always saving. I went to Montgomery College and learned English,” says Flournoy. “Having my own business was always on my mind and by 2008 I had drafted the business plan for what would become Salon 809.”

Flournoy points out that her drive towards success comes from her early years of being poor. “I always wanted to make my mother proud,” says Flournoy. Having worked in Dominican salons throughout her teen years, she sought to correct the poor customer service and incorrect techniques ravaging the industry’s niche. Flournoy says she understood exactly what needed to be done and, once the money was saved, she opened Salon 809 in 2015. “I was still working a full time job in government when I opened my first location. Our success was almost immediate,” recalls Flournoy.

A second location was opened in 2019. The franchise launch was close behind launching at the beginning of 2021.

Flournoy and her brand have already attracted the attention of prospective franchisees. “One of my clients is extremely interested, which really serves as a testament to how we build relationships here… we don’t just do hair,” points out Flournoy. “She sees how well everything works and has been a client of both locations. The processes from one to the other are completely seamless. Everything is replicable.”

Robust franchise territories are available for Salon 809. “Our processes are streamlined and simple. For anyone looking to build a better future with a brand they will love, now really is the time to start,” says Flournoy. The franchise offering comes with site selection assistance, ongoing marketing support, operational support, and all of the techniques that have set the brand apart since its inception. Plus, Flournoy will be there every step of the way to help her franchisees grow. “I know what it’s like to build a business from the ground up. I have a heart for the success of my franchisees and I can’t wait to show them how to grow their business,” she says.
