Chris Conner was recently interviewed by Barry Moltz on Business Insanity Talk Radio to review franchising and when the ideal time to consider the franchise expansion model might be for a growing business – http://barrymoltz.com/2016/11/404-secrets-feeling-fulfilled-less-stressed-small-business-owner/

Mr. Conner has worked in the franchise development industry since 2002 and helped a variety of businesses go through the franchise expansion process. His firm, Franchise Marketing Systems, specializes in developing new brands and taking these businesses into the franchise market place. His organization is comprised of 19 staff members with an extensive range of experience in different market categories throughout the franchise space.

The questions focused around businesses considering franchising as a growth mechanism, but who had not already entered the franchise market and Mr. Conner’s advice focused on helping business owners address the question of when to franchise a business.

Mr. Conner suggested that a business should consider franchising their concept primarily based on the market they are in. If there is increasing consumer demand and market opportunities to grow the business into new areas, a franchise model should be considered. Several successful franchise systems were discussed and reviewed during the interview who had short life-spans, but unique concepts and were looking to leverage a “first to market” advantage for their brand. The formula for when to franchise a business centered around market demand for the product or service being sold to the consumer, but there were other factors at hand. What systems, processes, procedures and technology are in place will impact whether a business is ready to franchise. Marketing, branding, look and feel of the business will also have an affect on whether a business is ready to franchise.

All together, Mr. Conner made it clear that the franchise expansion process was for a wide range of businesses, industry segments and markets. While most only consider the food service segment of franchising, the franchise market is comprised of virtually all market segments and there are success stories in each business category to prove this theory. For more information on how to franchise your business or just questions on franchising, Contact Chris Conner with Franchise Marketing Systems – Chris.Conner@FMSFranchise.com
